Uninteresting is the disappointingly apt title of the first single off the debut album by this much-talked-about Toronto outfit, for whom I had higher expectations. Not that they aren't good at what they do, far from it: They knock it out of the park when it comes to the kind of slightly saccharine, easily digestible pablum pop and soft rock that adult contemporary radio programmers and major labels gobble by the barrel. Which is fine. There is a vast market for competent, commercial, no muss, no fuss (and no-risk) rock writing. My mom would like this. Actually, on second thought, probably not.
