At least 12 charges, such as attempted murder and first-degree murder, have been brought against the suspect
The man who was arrested after the deadly pickup truck crash in Amqui, Que., last month is now being charged with a number of new crimes, including three counts of first-degree murder.
Steeve Gagnon was also charged with nine counts of trying to kill someone on Tuesday.
Police say that on March 13, Gagnon intentionally drove his pickup truck into a group of pedestrians. Gagnon was first charged with two counts of driving recklessly that caused death.
Three people died in the crash: Simon-Guillaume Bourget, who was 41, Gérald Charest, who was 65, and Jean Lafrenière, who was 73.
Several others were injured.
On Wednesday, Gagnon’s case is likely to be back in court.
